The West Indies at the Museum

The Eighteenth-Century Research Forum invites you to a discussion about Caribbean exhibitions at Danish museums.

It has been nearly 10 years since the region was the talk of the town in connection with the centennial of the sale of the former Danish West Indies to the United States. But what is the situation today? What exhibitions are there, what do they feature, and what are the visions for how the history of the Caribbean will be presented in the future?

With us, we have Sarah Giersing (The Maritime Museum), Rikke Lie Halberg (The Workers Museum), Karen Sivebæk Munk (Museum Vestsjælland), Christian Sune Pedersen (The National Museum), Louise Sebro (Museum Lolland-Falster), and Ida Maria Skielboe (Museum Vestsjælland).

The seminar will be in Danish.

Attendance is free, but space is limited.

Please register here by 22 November 2026.
